The next geneneration of gaming is almost here and with backwards compatibility being a feature for both the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S systems, the current generation doesn’t have to be left behind. That being said, just like with Xbox, not all PS4 titles will be able to play on the new system. Here is the full list of PS4 games that you will not be able to play on the PS5 system.
PS4-only games
PS4 only games:
DWVR
Afro Samurai 2 Revenge of Kuma Volume One

A mass majority of PlayStation 4 titles will be available to play on the PS5 systems, amassing more than 4,000 titles to choose from. In a recent post by the PlayStation Support page, Sony added “Some functionalities that were available on the PS4 console may not be available on PS5 consoles. In addition, some PS4 games may exhibit errors or unexpected behavior when played on PS5 consoles.”
For those that are looking to transfer digital versions of PS4 games to the PS5, a WiFi data transfer is one avenue, or transfer via an extended storage drive. You can learn more about what backwards compatibility means for the PlayStation 5 systems right here.
