For those that are fans of strategy games like Civilization and the like can definitely find the elements they love in this mobile-based game, DicTater. DicTater, developed by Cogniad LLC, takes the same concept as Civilization but replaces it with potatoes and some potato god sacrificing to add some character.
Dictator will be available on iOS and Android in April 2020. The demo is out today on Android and will be added to iOS in the coming future.
In DicTater, you’ve finally broken free from the grasps of potato slavery and must cultivate a new country. As the new leader of the downtrodden Russet potato cultivar, you must help build up your people and country. With your new freedom, conflict from the other races still runs rampant as they would often use the Russets as live sacrifices to the potato gods. Now it’s YOUR time to turn your blades on them.
To hold the power of your empire, you’ll have to keep up with the rest of the potato factions including with technology, buildings, land expansion and more. The opposing factions expand quickly and are constantly preparing for war. Constructing more buildings is essential in this game as it is a way to produce more potatoes and more troops. Not only can building up your army help but also making technological advances. As time moves in the game, so does the technology and it is up to you to make sure your empire is ahead of the game. Some updated technology includes potato guns, hard rocks or even nuclear weapons.
DicTater will have no pay-to-win mechanics which we adore. Future expansions will come at a cost but the base game itself will be FREE. This is great to see from developers and can’t wait to see what other things are coming for the future of this game.
