A few months back, V-Jump magazine showed off some awesome screenshots of Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot’s second DLC boss fight: A New Power Awakens – Part 2. Goku and Vegeta must transform into their Super Saiyan Blue forms to stand a chance against Golden Frieza. In a post released earlier today on the PlayStation Official Blog, Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot lead producer Ryosuke Hara briefly talked about some of the core features that will be coming to the game alongside the aforementioned Golden Frieza battle.
Although the DLC is set to mirror the setting of the Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection F movie, Hara states that other enemy appearances – like the Ginyu Force – will help in establishing an original story that matches the showcased environments as well as the base game outcomes. Additionally, a Horde Mode, called “Horde Battle,” will be premiering alongside the Frieza boss fight.
“As you can imagine, just taking the battle system from the base game and adding a bunch of enemies would not work and would not be much fun to play,” Hara admits. “So we’ve made several adjustments to the enemy AI, SFX, skills etc., in order to create a battle true to the original works, while making it enjoyable gameplay-wise.” The adjustments include new abilities for Goku and Vegeta to take on the horde as well as Z Combinations that allow players to vanquish multiple enemies at once depending on the amount of combos that they execute successfully.
Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot’s A New Power Awakens – Part 2 launches tomorrow, so be sure to check out the trailer above to get a glimpse of all that blue-haired action.
