A new piece of Pokémon Go artwork released by Niantic includes the Gen 6 starters: Froakie, Fennekin, and Chespin. For the last few generations, Niantic has released a similar piece of artwork in the months and weeks leading up to that generation’s release in the game. If history repeats itself, this means Gen 6 critters should be hitting the game soon.
Pokémon Go’s upcoming Fest is still scheduled to kick off worldwide on July 25 and 26 (you’ll need to purchase an in-game ticket to attend), but remote raids have been delayed. In a post within the game, Niantic says “We had hoped to provide this new feature for you this month, but we have discovered more time is needed in order to implement it. Our updated timeline moves the release to a later date, and we will share more details once available.”
Remote raids will allow friends to team up for big gym battles from around the world, meaning more people should be able to group up for five-star encounters.
And trainers, make sure you keep your eyes on the sky. Team Rocket balloons are now in Pokémon Go. When you see a balloon, tap it, and you’ll be taken into a battle against Team Rocket and shadow Pokémon. Sierra, Arlo, Cliff, and Giovanni are also airborne. You’ll need to use your radar again to track them down.
