San Diego Comic-Con 2020 Canceled 2

Organizers of the San Diego Comic-Con have announced that the famed convention will not take place this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, instead vowing to return on July 22-25, 2021.

Anyone who has purchased a badge to attend SDCC 2020 (as an attendee or exhibitor) can get a refund or have it transferred to 2021. Convention organizers say further instructions regarding this process will go out within a week. Similarly, onPeak, the convention’s official hotel affiliate, is automatically canceling all reservations and issuing refunds for rooms already booked.

Also affected by the pandemic are renovations to Balboa Park’s Federal Building for the Comic-Con Museum grand opening in the summer of 2021. These plans are ongoing, but more details will be coming at a later date.
