Netflix has been teasing bits and pieces of The Witcher, their adaptation of Andrzej Sapkowski’s books which also spawned the video game series of the same name from developer CD Projekt Red, over the last few weeks. Most recently, they posted a picture of the horse that would serve the role of Roach, Geralt’s generic name for any horse he happens to ride. But we had yet to get a full trailer, at least until now.
You can see the first trailer for Netflix’s The Witcher series below.

As previously released, the story seems to focus on Geralt, Ciri, and Yennefer primarily and seems to focus in on the origins of how Geralt met his adopted daughter. I get pretty strong Game of Thrones vibes from the tone, action, and general budget of the Netflix show, but presumably that’s the actual point.
The eight-episode series is apparently seeking an Autumn release, according to rumors. If Netflix is putting out a trailer now, they are probably gearing up toward a larger marketing push for what they themselves are calling the first season.
