What To Watch This Weekend: Counter-Strike, Tekken 7, And Kingdom Hearts III 2

It’s a bit of in-between week, as the Overwatch League takes a break and we wait for Evo to reignite passions for fighting games. That doesn’t mean there aren’t some big events this weekend! Far from it.

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive is having its big Intel Extreme Masters event in Chicago, and with only four teams left, we’re in for nothing but the best facing off. (Stream / Schedule)

Meanwhile, the European Speedrunner Assembly is having its summer marathon this weekend, which means speedruns for games like Silent Hill 2Hotline MiamiKingdom Hearts III, and more. (Stream / Schedule)

New York’s Defend the North tournament is the FGC major of the week, and it’s chance to catch some big-name competition in games like Tekken 7, Mortal Kombat 11, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, and many, many more. There’s even a big Street Fighter III: Third Strike tournament there! (StreamsSchedule)

We also have VSFighting going on in Birmingham, UK, which brings with it more fighting action, including Street Fighter V, Soulcalibur VI, and Samurai Shodown. (Streams and Schedule)

For more Smash Ultimate and Melee action, as well as tournaments for a few other games like Dragon Ball FighterZ, check out Paradigm Shift. (Stream / Schedule)

While you wait for the Overwatch League to come back, you can watch the Contenders League! It has a team called Jupiter, so it’s got that going for it. (Stream / Schedule)

The PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds GLL Grand Slam is going on this weekend, and only one team gets to survive. That’s the goal of the tournament, but also the game! (Stream / Schedule)

The various League of Legends divisions have a ton of matches lined up for today and tomorrow, so sit back, relax, and watch some games. (Stream and Schedule)

The Dota 2 scene may be collectively holding its breath for The International, but that’s not stopping China from hosting its World Cyber Games competition, albeit with teams who didn’t qualify for Valve’s major. (Stream / Schedule)

That’s it for this weekend! Let us know if we missed an event, or if there’s a scene you’d like us to cover, in the comments.
