In a message posted on the official World of Warcraft forums today (and Twitter, see below!) executive producer John Hight announced that World of Warcraft: Shadowlands is delayed. When is the upcoming expansion delayed to? No exact date has been given, but the expected release is still this year according to the post.

If you’re despairing about the delay, there’s a little bit of light at the end of the tunnel, as the “pre-patch” that comes with a ton of expansion changes arrives on October 13. Generally, the pre-patch experience leads an expansion launch by approximately a month, but with a situation like this it’s best to not make any assumptions.
