The kitchen was already stressful enough. Now PlateUp! is bringing back Halloween Trick cards, seasonal decorations, and a collection of new costumes.
Running a restaurant with your friends is stressful.
Running a restaurant with your friends while Halloween chaos takes over?
That’s a recipe for disaster.
Yogscast Games and developer It’s Happening have launched the PlateUp! Halloween Event, bringing seasonal content back to the popular restaurant-management roguelite.
The event is available now on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox, with the Nintendo Switch version arriving the following week.
Halloween Trick Cards Are Back
One of the biggest returning features is the Halloween Trick cards.
These cards appear on Daily and Weekly Challenge Boards, introducing additional complications to an already unpredictable restaurant experience.
If you’ve played PlateUp! before, you already know how quickly an organized kitchen can turn into complete chaos.
Now imagine adding Halloween-themed surprises.
Good luck keeping those customers happy.
New Costumes Bring More Than Just Halloween Spirit

This year’s event introduces several costumes inspired by other Yogscast Games titles.
Players can dress up as detectives, astronauts, knights, witches, divers, and medieval adventurers.
The costumes reference games including Dupery, Glory on Pluto, Dicealot, Rhell: Warped Worlds & Troubled Times, The Royal Writ, and The Subminer.
It’s a fun crossover opportunity for fans of the publisher’s growing indie catalog.
The event also introduces seasonal decorations to help restaurants embrace the spooky season.
Because if the kitchen is going to fall apart, it might as well look festive.
Steam Trading Cards Are Coming to PlateUp!
Halloween isn’t the only addition.
PlateUp! is also receiving Steam Trading Cards featuring recipes from the game.
Players can collect the cards as part of a virtual recipe collection.
Unlike the temporary Halloween activities, the new costumes and Steam Trading Cards are permanent additions.
The seasonal Halloween content will remain active into November.
PlateUp! Is Also 90% Off on Steam
Players looking to jump into the chaos can take advantage of a 90% Steam discount through October 22, according to the publisher.
That’s a pretty tempting offer for anyone who has been waiting to experience the culinary disaster simulator.
The Halloween event launched October 12 on PC, PlayStation, Xbox, and the Epic Games Store, with Nintendo Switch receiving the event the following week.
Whether you’re returning for the seasonal challenges or starting your first restaurant, there’s plenty of opportunity to burn dinner, ruin friendships, and somehow blame the person washing dishes.
Happy Halloween, chefs.
