A new Cozy After Dark trailer gives us another look at Flyway Games’ whimsical adventure, and there’s already a free Steam demo to try.
Apparently, even the afterlife isn’t safe from an adorable puppy.
Waltz and Jam, the upcoming hand-drawn action-adventure from Flyway Games, is bringing its unusual ghost-and-dog duo to PC, Nintendo Switch 2, and PlayStation 5 on December 3, 2026.
Following its release-date announcement during the Triple-i Initiative Showcase on October 8, the game returned to the spotlight during the October 12 Cozy After Dark Showcase with a new developer-focused trailer.
And between its colorful environments, strange creatures, and puppy-powered puzzle-solving, this might be one of the more charming adventures heading our way before the year ends.
Because apparently, being dead doesn’t mean you can’t have a good boy by your side.
A Ghost, a Puppy, and Seven Deadly Worlds

Waltz and Jam follows Waltz, a ghost who awakens in a mysterious place called Downtown with absolutely no memory of his past.
His objective? Collect seven stamps and reach the Gate of Judgement.
Simple enough, right?
Well, not quite.
With guidance from the enigmatic Low and help from his loyal spirit puppy, Jam, Waltz must journey through seven handcrafted worlds inspired by the Seven Deadly Sins.
Each world features its own environments, characters, puzzles, enemies, and bosses.
Players will explore everything from chaotic restaurants to castles filled with light and shadow, along with vast desert landscapes and other unusual locations.
The game’s hand-drawn visual style gives these environments a storybook quality, balancing whimsical charm with an underlying sense of mystery.
It’s cozy, colorful, and just a little unsettling.
Which, considering we’re exploring the afterlife, feels appropriate.
Jam Is More Than Just an Adorable Companion

Let’s address the most important feature.
There’s a puppy.
And thankfully, Jam isn’t simply following Waltz around looking adorable.
The spirit puppy plays an essential role in exploration and puzzle-solving, using transformations and evolving abilities to help the duo navigate the world.
Jam can become a bouncing Water Ball to cross gaps or transform into a Trampoline to help Waltz reach otherwise inaccessible areas.
Meanwhile, Waltz uses gadget-like toys left behind by legendary craftsmen to interact with the environment, unlock new routes, and confront enemies.
Together, the pair must solve environmental puzzles, uncover secrets, and overcome increasingly challenging obstacles.
Their partnership is central to the adventure, with new abilities opening additional possibilities as players progress.
We came for the adorable ghost puppy.
We might stay for the puzzles.
Seven Deadly Sins, Seven Different Adventures
One of Waltz and Jam’s most intriguing ideas is its approach to world design.
Rather than building a single continuous environment, Flyway Games has created seven distinct chapters, each inspired by one of the Seven Deadly Sins.
These locations introduce their own gameplay mechanics, environmental challenges, and enemies.
Each chapter also culminates in a boss encounter that requires players to recognize attack patterns and make effective use of Waltz and Jam’s abilities.
That combination of platforming, combat, and environmental puzzles could give the adventure a welcome sense of variety.
And with each world presenting a different interpretation of the afterlife, there’s plenty of room for the game to surprise players.
New Cozy After Dark Trailer Highlights the Game’s Development
During the October 12 Cozy After Dark Showcase, Flyway Games shared another look at Waltz and Jam through a developer spotlight presented by the game’s producer.
The video traces the adventure’s development while showcasing its colorful environments, characters, and distinctive blend of cozy exploration and spooky atmosphere.
It’s an especially fitting appearance for a game that manages to make the afterlife look both inviting and deeply suspicious.
The new footage also arrives just days after the game’s release-date reveal at the Triple-i Initiative Showcase.
With launch now less than two months away, players have a clearer picture of what to expect from the ghostly duo’s adventure.

Is Waltz and Jam Worth Watching?
Between its storybook visuals, imaginative world design, and unusually charming central duo, Waltz and Jam has the ingredients for a memorable indie adventure.
Of course, we’ll have to see how its puzzles, combat, and exploration come together when the full game launches.
But a ghost traveling through the Seven Deadly Sins with a magical puppy?
That’s already a stronger elevator pitch than most games manage.
And if Jam gets into trouble, we’re going to have some words.
