Witchbrook Finally Has a Release Date, and We’re Going Back to Magic School

After years of anticipation, Witchbrook officially launches January 28, 2027. Chucklefish revealed the long-awaited release date during Nintendo’s October 28 Indie World Showcase, alongside a new gameplay trailer and confirmation that the magical life simulator is also coming to PlayStation 5.

And yes, we’re finally getting our acceptance letters.

Developed by Chucklefish with support from Robotality, Witchbrook invites players into a charming pixel-art world where magic school, friendships, romance, and cozy everyday adventures all come together.

Witchbrook Release Date and Platforms

Witchbrook launches January 28, 2027, across PC, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.

The game will cost $24.99 and will also be available through Xbox Game Pass on day one.

The PlayStation 5 version was newly confirmed alongside the release-date announcement, expanding the game’s previously announced platform lineup.

Welcome to Witchbrook College

Players begin their magical journey as a witch-in-training at Witchbrook College, located in the bustling seaside town of Mossport.

Classes cover subjects including Alchemy, Astrology, Tarot, and Rituals. You’ll complete assignments, study for exams, and unlock new spells as you work toward graduation.

But unlike our actual school experiences, there’s plenty of incentive to skip studying and explore.

Between classes, players can:

• Build friendships and pursue romance.
• Join clubs and participate in seasonal events.
• Go fishing, birdwatching, and bug-catching.
• Operate a magical business serving the local community.
• Renovate and decorate a woodland cottage.
• Customize clothing, hairstyles, and accessories.

Basically, it’s the magical academic experience we deserved, minus the crushing student loan debt.

Bring Your Friends Along for the Magic

Witchbrook supports online co-op for up to four players, letting friends experience Mossport and its magical activities together.

Whether you’re attending classes, exploring the town, or simply enjoying the cozy atmosphere, you won’t have to experience witch life alone.
