Pizzapocalypse Drops a Free Steam Demo, Because Apparently Pizza Can Save the World 3

Forget saving the princess. We’re saving pizza. And honestly? The stakes have never been higher.

Indie developer Monkey Strike Games has launched a free Steam demo for Pizzapocalypse: A Slice of Hope, a colorful 3D platformer that turns everyone’s favorite cheesy comfort food into an unlikely weapon against corporate greed.

Because in this particular apocalypse, the enemy isn’t zombies, aliens, or some ancient evil.

It’s a corporation selling pizza in a can.

Yeah. We’re going to need someone to explain that business model.

What Is Pizzapocalypse: A Slice of Hope?

Pizzapocalypse: A Slice of Hope is a 3D platforming adventure built around pizza-powered movement.

Players use their pizza to bounce, swing, dash, and navigate environments while working to stop a greedy corporation responsible for the questionable invention of canned pizza.

It’s an unusual premise, but one that fits neatly into the growing lineup of personality-packed indie platformers.

Rather than treating pizza as a simple collectible or background joke, Pizzapocalypse makes it central to how players move through the world.

And considering how much we already love pizza, giving it superpowers feels like the natural next step.

What’s Included in the Free Steam Demo?

The newly released demo offers one large playable level designed to introduce players to the game’s movement mechanics and world.

According to Monkey Strike Games, players can expect:

  • Robots to encounter throughout the level
  • Hidden secrets to discover
  • Unlockable outfits
  • Different pizzas to unlock
  • Movement techniques to learn and master

The emphasis on movement suggests that experimentation will be a major part of the experience.

If you’re the type of player who spends an unreasonable amount of time perfecting a jump just because you know there’s a faster way to do it, this might be one to watch.

The free demo is available now on Steam.

Pizzapocalypse Kickstarter Launches November 7

Alongside the demo, Monkey Strike Games has opened a Kickstarter prelaunch page ahead of its crowdfunding campaign, scheduled to begin November 7, 2026.

The developers say the project began during their final year at university. Rather than pursuing internships, the team decided to focus on building the game and establishing their own indie studio.

Development has continued alongside part-time jobs, weekend work, and evenings.

The team also reports generating more than 10 million impressions across its social media channels, suggesting that the game’s unusual premise has already attracted attention.

The upcoming Kickstarter campaign will give interested players another way to follow the project and potentially support its continued development.

Can Pizza Save the World?

There’s something refreshing about an indie game that knows exactly how ridiculous its premise is and commits to it.

Pizzapocalypse: A Slice of Hope isn’t asking players to save civilization with an ancient sword or legendary artifact.

It’s handing them a pizza and telling them to get moving.

The combination of expressive platforming, unlockable content, and a distinctly anti-canned-pizza mission could make this a fun discovery for players who enjoy creative indie adventures.

Of course, a demo is only an early taste of what the full game could become. We’ll be interested to see how the movement mechanics and level design evolve as development continues.

For now, the free Steam demo is available, and the Kickstarter campaign is approaching.

Would you play a platformer powered by pizza, or is pizza-in-a-can where you draw the line?
