Space, music, and competitive rhythm gameplay? Someone looked at our already questionable hand-eye coordination and decided to make it everyone else’s problem, too.
Shochiku Games and developer Imanity have revealed a new trailer and major Steam demo update for Estella, an upcoming 3D rhythm game that combines high-speed musical gameplay with a cinematic sci-fi story.
The latest update brings new songs, visual improvements, and a look at multiplayer competition supporting up to 32 players.
Yes, 32 players.
Because apparently missing a beat in private wasn’t embarrassing enough.
What Is Estella?

Estella is a 3D rhythm-action game set across a cosmic landscape.
Rather than following traditional flat note lanes, players race through octagonal lanes using a mouse and keyboard, synchronizing their movements with the music.
The developers describe the experience as a journey through the cosmos, with individual planets serving as chapters in a larger narrative.
At the center of the story is Elina, a young woman chosen by a mysterious golden comet.
After a strange purple flower spreads through her homeland and numbs people’s hearts, Elina is branded a heretic and banished.
Two years later, she awakens alone with translucent hands and sets out to reclaim the home she’s lost.
So we’ve got rhythm gameplay, mysterious curses, and an emotionally complicated protagonist.
Sounds like an anime opening waiting to happen.
Estella’s Steam Demo Gets Three New Songs
The updated demo introduces several improvements designed to give players a better look at the game’s direction.
According to the developers, the update includes:
- Refined visual presentation
- Improved user interface
- Gameplay enhancements
- Three additional songs
- Music previously featured at Tokyo Game Show 2026
The newly added tracks include:
- PUPA by Morimori Atsushi
- enchanted love by linear ring
- Festival Forever by TAKIO
The game’s music lineup also features tracks from artists including Camellia and PYKAMIA.
For rhythm-game enthusiasts, that soundtrack alone might be enough to warrant a download.

Up to 32 Players Can Compete in Multiplayer
One of the more intriguing reveals in the new trailer is Estella’s multiplayer mode.
The footage offers an early look at up to 32 players competing for scores in real time while synchronized to the same music.
That sounds like the perfect environment for friendly competition.
And by friendly, we mean someone is absolutely going to take a missed note personally.
The developers haven’t detailed every aspect of the multiplayer experience yet, but the scale alone makes it worth watching.
New Trailer Introduces Elina’s Voice and Theme Song
The newly released promotional video also reveals the game’s Chapter 1 theme song, “Elina,” composed by Kyiku and rinri with vocals by Es.
It introduces the voice of protagonist Elina, performed by Saima Nakano, alongside additional story scenes and gameplay footage.
The trailer highlights the game’s fast-paced rhythm mechanics and cosmic visual design.
When Does Estella Release?
Estella is planned for Steam Early Access this winter, although a specific release date has not been announced.
The initial Early Access version is expected to include Chapter 1 and approximately 40 songs.
Pricing has not yet been revealed.
Players interested in checking it out can download the updated Steam demo now and add the game to their wishlist.
One to Watch for Rhythm-Game Fans
There’s something appealing about a rhythm game that wants to be more than a collection of difficult tracks.
Estella is combining a story-driven cosmic adventure with fast-moving 3D gameplay and large-scale multiplayer competition.
Whether all those elements come together successfully remains to be seen, but the updated demo gives players an opportunity to try the experience for themselves.
And considering the music lineup, we suspect rhythm-game veterans are already warming up their fingers.
Would you jump into a 32-player rhythm battle, or are you keeping your missed notes between you and your keyboard?
